At high voltages the Lopy does not transmit any more?

    Once connected via the board and once directly at the Lopy?
    Can someone give you some information about it?

    How much power does the Lopy need in Bluetooth, W-Lan, Lorawan mode?



  • @Wolli01 Both SX1272 and SX1276 oprate at a range of 1.8 to 3.7 V, the esp32 at a range of 2.6 to 2.6 V. So 3.33V should not be a problem. The voltage should however be taken at the 3.3 V output of the LoPy, to be sure, that the supply arrives. But there may be short supply drops during send bursts. If you have an oscilloscope available, try to trigger for voltage drop sat the 3.3V output.
    The current demand for WiFI is higher than that for Lora, 250mA worst case for the ESP32 vs. 120mA worst case for the SX127x, but I doubt that these high power output modes for Lora are supported.
    So yes, worst case can be in the range of 500mA. Given your power consumption, battery impedance, especially at low voltage, may more be an issue than total capacity.



  • @robert-hh Hallo Robert ich schreibe jetzt mal in Deutsch denn das wurde nicht richtig übersetzt.
    Wieviel Volt muss grundsätzlich vorhanden sein, dass der Lopy per Lorawan/W-Lan noch zuverlässig sendet.
    Ich hatte jetzt bei ca. 3,33 Volt übertragungsprobleme per Lorawan, weis aber nicht ob das an der Voltzahl liegt oder an Lorawan selbst. Deswegen wollte ich nachfragen.

    Was wird überhaupt an Strom verbraucht oder was braucht mehr Strom, Lorawan oder W-Lan und kann man auch beides gleichzeitig laufen lassen?

    Ich habe per Lorawan und einen Lipo Akku 3.7 Volt 2500 mah, (bei je jeder Minute Sendung), habe ich jetzt nach 7 Tagen ca. 0.40 Volt Verbraucht. Ich wollte demnächst auch ein TrustFire 3.7 Volt 5000 mah testen.



  • @Eric73 Maximum Current for the ESP32 is about 250mA. A supply of 500mA capability is recommended.

    If you do all simultaneous you can count 120mA (SF12-TX), 95mA (Wifi/Bluetooth budget) and ESP32 need (i dont know but 30mA seem a good approx value), so your power supply will provide at least 300mA for not having trouble.



  • @Wolli01 What do you consider high voltages? The PyCom device have a voltage regulator at the Vin Pin, which works up to 6 Vin. Up to that it works reliably. Beyond that the operation state is undefined.
