MONARCH2 chipset

  • Can anyone confirm/deny if Pycom has any plans to migrate to the MONARCH2 chipset? It is supposedly fully backwards compatible but comes with a list of new features including GNSS and reduced power figures.

    Anyone?

  • That would be nice. Hopefully it solves many of the little issues that I have seen with the current chip.

  • For GNSS it says it supports all major satellite constellations, but it does not specify whether it supports SBAS.
Having SBAS support makes a lot of difference in accuracy:
Civilian GPS without SBAS is better than 35 m horizontally and 75 m vertically 95% of the time.
With SBAS it is typically 2-3 m horizontally and 1.5 m vertically.
