Starting PyMakr

  • The Quick start guide says "Open Pymakr"
What does that mean? I see no Desktop icon after install on Windows 10. What do I do?
I have used python with PyCharm occasionally and IDLE on Raspberry Pi but am no expert.

I have a WiPy 2 and can see it on its wireless network.

  • @mmarkvoort

    Thanks for the help.
    I never knew about C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
I found the entry and copied it to the desktop. It works fine.
It never appeared in the visible start menu, but then Windows has a certain "whimsical" aspect to it operation :)

  • @joem
If you mean that you can't find the Pymakr executable.
    Its located in: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    Or

On windows 10: on start button its in the list of programs at the letter P.

  • Hi @joem, we're currently reworking the documentation for anyone getting started with their Pycom Boards as well as retiring Pymakr and bringing in new plugins for PyCharm, Atom, Sublime amongst other editors.

Previously, we've always suggested that you download Pymakr (https://www.pycom.io/resources/) as an easy way for us to guide you through getting set up.

I would recommend that you install Pymakr to follow the quick start and hold tight whilst we finish build the plugins for PyCharm!

    Sorry for the confusion!

    Alex
