Hi all you awesome folk on here,
Just in case you haven't seen it yet, today we've announced a new Pycom baby - the LoPy4. As a quad network dev board, It combines Sigfox and LoRa, features 4MB RAM and 8MB Flash and yes, it does Deep Sleep Mode all on its own.
See the video here: https://youtu.be/HZ4w_JMkoy4
Enjoy your evening :-)

@bettina I guess they fixed it without bothering to thank me ;)
-
@g0hww were you looking at the right page: https://pycom.io/product/lopy4/ ? In any case, it's correct here as far as I can see.
-
Does this mean my current Lopy's also grew Sigfox potential?
-
The pre-order page says:
Memory
– RAM: 512KB
– External flash: 4MB
– Hardware floating point acceleration
– Python multi-threadingI suppose this should be corrected!

@jmarcelino
That's interesting, I was not aware it is possible to use SX1272 for Sigfox.
-
@danielm
Sigfox and LoRa share the same hardware (the Semtech SX1272 chip) on the FiPy and the new LoPy so it’s just a bonus, there is no hardware difference
-
@jmarcelino
I meant FiPy without Sigfox as it is not my favourite technology :)
-
@danielm
That's the FiPy OEM. It was mentioned here (or was in on the Kickstarter?) that it was being planned but it would be a complex to produce - the LTE part in particular is very complex and unlike the FiPy - where you get the top side for the ESP32 + LoRa/Sigfox and the bottom for LTE - you don't get both sides of the board in OEM modules.

Is there a plan for a module with following 4 interfaces possibly in OEM form factor?
-BT
-WiFi
-LoRa
-LTE Cat NB1/M1
