WHat is the deep sleep shield?

I can't find any page that explains what the deep shield does?

To correctly connect a WiPy 2.0, LoPy or SiPy to the Deep Sleep Shield, align the white triangle on the Shield with the LED of the Pycom Device. Once the Pycome Device is seated onto the Deep Sleep Shield, this can then be connected to the Exapnsion Board.

thanks, saw nop ereference on which way the deep shield gets connected. I see a white triangle on the borad..which pin does this align to?

it is provided for fixing problem with deepsleep current, which was to high.
With new modules like e.g. Wipy3 it is not needed.
