LoPy external RAM
-
I just have a general question about the updater and the amount of external RAM which can be used with the LoPy/WiPy.
I recently stumbled across this article here https://forum.pycom.io/topic/2097/new-firmware-release-1-10-0-b1-external-4mbyte-ram-supportAnd I obviously wonder if that extended RAM is still a possible thing? I would greatly profit of it since my LoPy really runs with very little resources. Sadly it looks like since the updater on Windows has a newer version you can't change these values anymore.
Is there still a way to extend RAM for the LoPy/WiPy?

@binux @jmarcelino thanks for the clarification

@binux
Correct you need a new layout and also a new ESP32 chip revision.
-
@nathanh I don‘t think that was possible. I think you would need to change the whole chip layout for that.

This might be a stupid question but my initial google search just brings up threads like this but...
Are there additional ram modules I can buy for the Pycom devices?
-
@livius thanks

@binux
automatically
-
@livius Ah I oversaw this line. Just for clarification - Lopy4 and Wipy3 have this RAM automatically enabled or would I have to still do something there?

@binux
If you read carefully you there is line "on the 4MByte of RAM devices"
Device must have phisical hardware and this hardwar is available in new devices like Wipy3, lopy4..
Wipy and Lopy have not it.
