How to transmit every 30-60 seconds data from LoPy
-
Hi All,
We've developed an 'Data Collector' which is monitoring temparatures of our equipment. But with using Lora we're exceeding the airtime in a big way, if we want to send every 30-60 seconds data. (Private Lora network).
Is there a way to transmit this almost 'realtime' level of data to an gateway or something, connected to the internet, without problemens? With the LoPy available protocols? And with the biggest reach possible. So WiFi is not very useful.
Hope you guys have some suggestions.
Kind regards,
Mike

LoRa or LoRaWan ?
Regulations are the same for all devices independtly they are LoRa, LoRaWAN or other ISM devices.
To know the packet size = payload + LoRaWan header/etc (typically 13 bytes).

Use DR5 or DR6 (EU868/EU433) and proper uplink data coding to minimize transmission time. 50 kbps would be even faster if supported by device and gateway. Please consider higher speed means shorter distance.

LoRa or LoRaWan ?
Size of the payload ?
Which country ?
Airtime limitation from TTN or from LoRa band regulations ?
