BAND support for GPY and FIPY
-
Hello Everyone , I just wanted to create a post detailing the Band support for both FiPy and GPY with respect to Hardware revisions of Fipy/Gpy and Firmware versions on Sequans modem.
Note the Bands listed in response of command
AT+COPS=?
will not always reflect the Bands supported by the board.-
Fipy/GPy HW v1.0 ==> supports 6 bands only (3, 4, 12, 13, 20, 28)
-
Fipy/GPy HW v1.2 with Sequans modem Firmware (41xxx) ==> Supports Full range of 17 bands (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 66)
-
Fipy/GPy HW v1.2 with Sequans older modem Firmwares (39xxx) ==> Supports 8 Bands (3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 20, 28)
-
Fipy/GPy HW v1.2 with Sequans old modem Firmwares < (39xxx)==> Supports 6 Bands (3, 4, 12, 13, 20, 28)
Thanks

@naveen I paid EUR 2.90 for the return postage.
-
@Joop-Susan Thanks for letting me know. What was the shipping cost or they covered it?
-
@naveen Last week I finally got a response. I sent my unit back and the replacement should be here in a few days. At least I've got a tracking code...
-
I have same problem. Today I sent RMA request. @Joop-Susan have you got your board replaced?
-
@iwahdan My fipy has version 1.0r printed on the bottom. Can that one be upgraded to support band 8 to connect to T-Mobile Netherlands NB-IoT? "RRC:showcaps" says " board : 3/4/12/13/20/28". I have sent an RMA request and sent multiple emails to support but never got any response. PYCSD-815. That was three monts ago.

@robert-hh it is displayed on the bottom side of the board.

@iwahdan Thanks, @iwahdan. But how can one tell the HW version of FiPy/GPy? Is there a command or sign on the label? Even Pycom's own shop does not tell it.
