Vin and USB power input

May I know if it is possible to power the expansion board via Vin while plugging in the USB simultaneously?

Is there any risks of damaging the device?

Vin is equal to the USB power, after passing through a protection diode. So it should be possible. Of course, do not supply with more than 5.5V
