Lopy with uninitialized radio

In the documentation it warns that you should have an antennae connected to the Lopy to prevent damage to the radio....does this also apply if the radio has not been initialized or used within my micropython code?

No, it is fine to use a LoPy/SiPy/etc. without a lora antenna if you do not initialise the radio. If you do, do this, make sure the antenna is connected before hand.
