pybytes.activate(activationstring)

I'm trying to use the pybytes.activate(activationstring) method.
I have tried it with the activation token that you are supposed to use in the offline firmware updater tool but that doesn't work:

>>> pybytes.activate('a4b3f5f3-28aa-4b58-aacd-0872b718987c')
Disconnecting current connection!
Error decoding activation string!
syntax error in JSON
Activation failed! Please try again...

I noticed in another post that people use a much longer activation string than what I'm using above. So I guess I'm not using the correct activation string.

Where can I get a working activation string?

@Nils-Erlands this might be browser related... What browser are you using and what version? I'm using current Microsoft Edge (Version 95.0.1020.44) withouth any issues.

as @Alexander-Pilhar said, you should use the activation string for Pymakr when using the pybytes.activate() method, not the token for the offline updater

Did you use the activation string from 'with pymakr plugin' section?
