@robert-hh i'm a bit confused. My connection is like on foto. should I measure between GND and 3V3WhatsApp Image 2022-07-26 at 15.42.29.jpeg or GND and VIN?

@Liudmila-Dobriakova Measure between GND and 3.3V, while the board is powered. Then, you should have 3.3V at the 3.3V pin, which is the output of the 3.3V regulator of the LoPy4.

@robert-hh sorry, the image was made afterward, and the cables are switched in the opposite way.

@Liudmila-Dobriakova you have to connect GND to the board. Otherwise it is not powered.

@Liudmila-Dobriakova Sorry. It looked open in the picture. 2.15 V is too low for the ESP32 to work. But if the regulator gets hot, then there is a lot of current drawn. So there must be some kind of short on the board.
                  Not good.

@robert-hh u right, the picture was not clear, I can imagine.. .so there is nothing to bring it to life again? :( any other suggestions, or tricks?

If there is no way to recover it, I have a question then, since there are no LoPy4 boards available currently on the market I was wondering if I can use the FiPy board, but I have a script for reading the sensors data and the connection layout them and connection for LoRaWAN stack written for the LoPy4 board, would it work for FiPy board as well or I have to start from the scratch?

@Liudmila-Dobriakova In principle you can use a Fipy as well. Only it has fewer available Pins than the FiPy, since some of the pins are connected to the LTE modem. So it depends on which pins you are actually using for your applications. Just changing the pin numbers is easy.

But please use a proper mechanical set-up for the boards and the adapter.

Be aware that all esp32 based development boards by Pycom are discontinued. Stuff that is out-of-stock at a shop will never be available again. Only at Pycom itself you might place an order until the end of this month and then you might get them until the end of the year.

@robert-hh so, means what the FiPy will be dropped as well, since it's also ESP32 based? this is really pitty...
another question, I was reading the manual for safe boot... i wanted to try everything before throwing away the board. to do so it is written that I have to connect the P12 and 3,3V. so basically the connected as on the foto and powered up via bridge I could keep for 7-9 sec reset button pressed and could have a chance what it wake up? could u confirm what the connection is ok?WhatsApp Image 2022-07-26 at 16.59.41.jpeg

@Liudmila-Dobriakova Yes, connection between 3.3V and P12. But if there is no 3.3V, the device does not boot at all. Safe boot requires the device to boot first, and in a late step of the boot phase then a different software action takes place, like erasing the file system and trying to restore the alternate firmware image.

Yes. It seems that only the new F01 board will be available then, if at all.
