Detect connection to WIPY 2

I have my WIPY 2 set up in AP mode and I managed to connect to it using my PC via wipy-wlan-890c.
The minute the my PC is connect or disconnect from the WIPY 2 network, I get a connection message on the console.I would like to detect such connection in my python program. What is the syntax I need to write detect connections to the WIPY 2?
