LoPy power draw

I'm curious about the LoPy device.
The power draw is showing as;
- WiFi: 12mA in active mode, 5uA in standby
- Lora: 15mA in active mode, 10uA in standby
That seems very low. What does 'active' mode mean? Turned on but not transmitting or receiving? When WiFi is transmitting on the ESP32 I think it uses ~175mA. Does the LoPy use less, or are the specs actually the same?
