18mA deepsleep

On a LoPy using machine.deepsleep() I get just under 18mA drawn from the 5V supply.
Is this the expected result? Can it be improved? Where is the power going?
I know there are a lot of posts on the forum about deepsleep problems, but is there a definitive post somewhere.

If you are talking about Lopy you need deepsleep shield to achive low current
https://forum.pycom.io/topic/1022/root-causes-of-high-deep-sleep-current/96all new modules Wipy3, Lopy4.. do not need it and work in "normal" deepsleep low current mode.
