LTE CAT M1/NB1 in Portugal

Hi,

I'm contacting the Portuguese operators. But is not been easy to get useful information, when LTE CAT M1/NB1 will be available.

Pycom got some information about this subject?

Any news on the current LTE CAT-M1 status in Portugal?

Do I need a special local simcard for this?

As far as I know Altice is not planning to support Cat M1 yet, but definitely have trials underway for NB-IoT and even have a test lab for NB-IoT devices in Picoas.

That's strange. Altice response to me that they are not planning support CAT-M1/NB-Iot.

I will contact again Altice.

PS:
Well we are planing to build a case study with 100 units.
Pycom will receive a big order in a couple of weeks. :)

I know Altice is running some seminars on NB-IoT. Test deployments can be made on a business case/on-demand basis (of course they won't enable it for for one or two units..)

I don't have more information at the moment other than it's a mixed Ericsson / Huawei network and Pycom's current support for Huawei is still very limited.
