        Hi @Gijs ,

        I wanted to keep you posted on this topic. My carrier asked me to test signal quality with command lte.send_at_cmd("AT+CSQ"). It retruns 99,99. Do you know what does that means?
        I followed the instructions on LTE example: the right model antenna is plugged at the right pin as shown on picture.

          The lte.send_at_cmd("AT+CSQ") will not always return the signal quality before the modem is attached. 99 means 'not known or not detectable' according to the datasheet. In this case, I lean towards the 'not known', as you are able to connect, but either the modem, or the cell disconnects you again. Were you able to check the activation status of the simcard, (maybe somewhere in the online interface of the carrier you'll have to flip a swtich) Im guessing it is related to that.

            @Gijs : the SIM card has status "activated" on carrier website. I've been in touch with them. They are saying that the SIM card had no contact yet and still witing for 1st attachmenent. I'm wondering if I need to order a LTE-M sim card, just to give it a try...
            Do you have any other advice to go further in troubleshooting?

              Good to hear the sim is activated with the provider. Im guessing in the dark here as I have not quite seen this state before, but Is the FSM state repeatable for you? Perhaps it helps to let it run for a bit, or shift locations. Perhaps its still with the APN setting. There could be a lot of factors influencing this. I'll check if there's any other options

                @Gijs : com4 is using Telia's network. If you take a look at the coverage map here:
                https://www.telia.no/nett/dekning/
                You can see that NB-IoT has good coverage in Oslo region (I'm nearby Asker). No need to test other places :)
                The previous FSM state is unfortunately not repeatable . I never had "CONNECTED" state since last time I posted. The RRC TOP FSM status's switching between SCANNING and CAMPED. I let the FiPy ran lte.attach() during 1 hour, without any success to attach :(

                For further details, I took notes of the following from FSM status:

                1. Before calling lte.attach(), the RRC TOP FSM status is STOPPED.
                2. While SCANNING, the RRC SEARCH FSM goes from WAIT_RSSI to WAIT_CELL_ID
                  3a. The RRC TOP FSM goes from SCANNING to SYNCING
                  3b. The RRC SEARCH FSM goes from WAIT_CELL_ID to WAIT_SYNC
                  4a. The RRC TOP FSM goes from SYNCING to CAMPED
                  4b. RRC SEARCH FSM goes from WAIT_SYNC to CAMPED_ANY

                Hoping that could help you in helping me in troubleshooting.

                  @Gijs I was able to repeat the FSM state. I had too slow print command; I adjusted from 5 seconds to 0.25 seconds. Interesting fact is that whatever arguments the lte.attach() command gets, the results are the same. I even tried without any arguments, the RRC TOP FSM returns "CONNECTED". Here are the results:

                    Thanks for sending that through. Im still not exactly sure why its disconnecting, but we could try a beta NB-IoT modem firmware release (here). Please use one of the update procedures described on this page: https://docs.pycom.io/updatefirmware/ltemodem/

                      Hi @Gijs ,

                      I upgraded FW to the beta NB-IoT you sendt me. I've seen a small improvement where RRC TOP FSM returns "CONNECTED" during a longer time, but still, it goes back to "DISCONNECTING" and then stucks at "SCANNING" after a while.
                      I therefore sent an support case to support@pycom.io. I received an email confirming that PyCom is working on it, but they didn't get in touch with me yet. Do you know how long time they use to handle the support request?
