Setting host name possible?

I was wondering if there is a way to set the host name of the WiPy instead of using 192.168.4.1 to connect to it?
I know there is a microDNS server lib to do this, but it seems like the ESP32 should provide this out of the box?

There might be something in the code to change it but that would require compiling the firmware etc so its probably easiest to stick with the python library
