OSError 23

Been getting the occasional OSError 23 (typically after a couple of OSError: [Errno 118] EHOSTUNREACH from requests) on a gpy running 1.20.1.r1. I've never bothered with garbage collection, I figured it was automatic. Do we chase down memory leaks or just shrug & run gc manually?
