Wifi2 - Event loop MicroPython

Hi the spec sheet for Wifi2 - mentions Event loop MicroPython.
I've used embedded JavaScript on espruino & Squirrel on Electric IMP.
Both use Event-loop call backs.

So was pleased to read support Event loop MicroPython.
But I can't find any reference to this in docs/forum.
Is this under development or just a way of referring to IO interrupt handling?
