pymakr on vscode not starting

Whenever I start vscode, pymakr always complains of not being able to start. I always have to reload vscode before pymakr connects. Is this a known problem? My board is an expressif esp32-wbrover-b.iomari

I know this issue sometimes occurs, but have never seen it happen every time. Im not sure about support for non-pycom development boards though.
