Lora block socket

Hello,
i have two questions:

1. In the pycom sleep documentation it reads :"the LoRa, SigFox and LTE modems are stopped as well and have to be re-initialized after wakeup." But i tried to send packets over OTAA to TTS after I wake up my LoPy without re-initialized LoRa and the data arrived on the server. Now I ask myself what it means that I have to re-initialize it?

2. Can someone please explain me why I have to block and unblock my lora socket. I already red some information about it but I never completely understood it..
