Doubts on wipy2.0 reference schematics

Hello,
As per the wipy2.0 reference schematics, P13 to P18 pins are only accessible by INPUT pins.
And also mentioned that we should not use any external pull up.
Just curiosity, why its like that ? what if I use P13 to P18 as OUTPUTS and use external pull up (for both INPUT & OUTPUT)?

Those are connected to pins on the ESP32 which cannot drive output signals
