Multi-hop End-Device?
-
Hi.
I was wondering if there are possibilities to use the multi-hop communication with the LoRa End Devices?
i.e. end devices, not only transmit their own messages but also listen to others messages and receive and transmit them.Thanks
How would you implement the Forwarder?

@juan-narvaezb95 said in Multi-hop End-Device?:
listens, sends and transmits at the same time
At the RF channel, the LoPy can either Receive or Send at a given moment. You can of course communicate by WiFi and Lora at the same time.

@jmarcelino Maybe they have not made this implementation in the nano gateway, so that it will behave like a jump.

@bmarkus Just take the image as a reference is not important distances. The idea is to modify the nano gateway code so that a multi-hop is generated.
I have been reviewing some papers and if it is possible to do it but it is complex, I wanted to know how to do so that the middle node listens, sends and transmits at the same time.

@juan-narvaezb95 What is 2m, 3.35m and 5.25m on the drawing, distance???

From the diagram it looks like you're looking at LoRaWAN. Repeaters are not supported in LoRaWAN, what is supposed to happen is your forwarder would just become another gateway itself connected to the network server.
If you're happy to not have downlinks (and this means ALL downlinks including OTAA, ADR, etc) you could probably simply adapt the nano-gateway code to retransmit over LoRa.
With downlinks this isn't possible because the retransmission would mess the precisely timed received windows.
