New beta firmware updater 1.15.2.b0
-
I have released a new beta firmware updater 1.15.2.b0
Windows download
MacOS download
Linux downloadsGUI improvements:
-
Support for downgrading (in Advanced Settings)
-
Support for choosing the file system type (in Communication or Advanced Settings)
-
Improved Results screen on success
Server improvements:
The feature to have a new LoRa MAC address assigned if it has gotten lost before the device was updated for the first time has been restored. It requires using this new beta version for now.
Choosing the File System:
The new development firmware 1.19.0.b3 supports both FatFS and LittleFS for the internal flash file system and the new firmware updater has support for this.
When flashing in online mode, you can choose the file system based on what is available in the firmware:
Advanced Settings is always enabled when flashing a development firmware!
When flashing from a local file, the option to choose the file system is in the Communication screen:
As usual, please let me know if you encounter any issues

Just wanted to help with bug fixing/spotting
Which is very much appreciated and reason I started releasing development versions in the first place :)

@xykon Just wanted to help with bug fixing/spotting. Actually I am quite happy with the recent changes. Especially the new filesystem. So it's a good thing you released it already so we can test it properly.

Is this by design or could this be changed?
OK I'll look into that. I admit I rushed this release a little bit (it's a beta after all) to get the new dual filesystem firmware released so I didn't check every possible way through the updater. Obviously the Pybytes window shouldn't show up at all when flashing from local file so hopefully this will be easy to fix.
-
Also it seems you need a Pybytes activation token when you try to reset the LoRa region even when flashing from a local file.
Is this by design or could this be changed?
-
@xykon oh yes downgrade feature, a must have, thanks 🙏

Every time the update process is repeated the serial port is reset to the default value (I assume the highest). This is can be little bit annoying
Thanks for noticing. I'll get that fixed in the next release.

On Windows 8.1 it is detected as malware. It works if you click on "Run anyway". Just wanted to let you know.

@rcolistete Update: All the downloads should work now. Thanks for pointing that out.
