I had the same issue on LOPY4 boards and seems is related with the watchdog.
If the watchdog is started and you do P2+GND (bootloader mode) then press reset... always you got this cycled error.
The workaround is to put P2+GND (bootloader mode) and unplug then plug powerThe issue is reproduced on several boards with LOPY4.

@misterlisty That looks like an interface problem. Do you use an expansion board? Maybe that is broken or has broken or worn contacts.

Tried reflashing but something is wrong...sometimes it connects ie serial com working..sometime scrambled characters

@misterlisty Since the devicve is complaining, it is not dead. Try to re-flash the firmware. Maybe you loaded the wrong firmware to the device. Also: check cables, power supply, ...
