@jcaron and everyone. We have fixed the deepsleep current issue of the Pysense. As explained before, it was just a software thing (the pressure sensor needed to be powered down). Just use the new library: https://github.com/pycom/pycom-libraries/blob/master/pysense/lib/pysense.py

And you'll enjoy a current of only 10uA during deepsleep :-)

Great, thanks! :) Will test it tonight or tomorrow.

@daniel Woohoo! Too bad I don't have my LoPys at hand to test right now, but I will do so as soon as I can.

While you have your hands in there, any chance for wake on pin on the Pysense?

          Thanks!

Great to hear. Do you already have information on which pins we'll be able to use for wakeup? I'm currently designing some hardware, and with that information I'd be able to order prototypes sooner.

                Thank you for the fix.

So, does one use the lopy deepsleep, the pysense go-to-sleep, or both (somehow)?

Is there an example of using the nvram save and load?

The survey monkey link is dead. I have 5 affected boards. How can I obtain 1-3 deep sleep shields?

                  Thank you,
                  Christian

The same for me, I would need a deep-sleep shield but I see the survey is closed...
                    Thanks

@colin.guyon Hi Colin, simply send an email to sales@pycom.io with your order number and where the shields need to be sent. Best wishes Fred

@crasu Hi Christian, Inhave just messaged Colin with same info. Please send email to sales@pycom.io with order number details / address for delivery of the shields. Also, confirm how many you need. Thanks Fred

@Fred is it possible to implement on the deep sleep board a real RTC (even by an empty place on the pcb So it can be added afterwards)? Maybe size up the PIC chip and add a 32kHz xtal and do the RTC in software...

@rolandvs I don't think we will do this. The deesleep shield prupose is to compensate for the current batch of modules with the issue of the high deepsleep current. The next batch of modules will be able to go to deepsleep with a consumption of 5uA, therefore you'll be able to use the RTC built-in the ESP32.

@daniel sounds promising. Do you already know when that next batch will be available?

@fred, I wondered if the deep sleep issues have been resolved in the new LoPy4 modules? Will the deep-sleep shield still be needed for LoPy4 to achieve low current deep-sleep? Thank you. Best Regards, Martin

No, deepsleep shield is not needed for Lopy4. It work "natively" in deepsleep mode.

think about people first, then computers

@livius , thank you. Are the quoted <5uA standby currents for LoPy4 with Wifi/LoRa/SigFox disabled using the 3.3V-5.5V power external input pin via the LoPy4 internal 3.3V voltage regulator? To achieve lowest standby deep sleep power consumption, will I be able to use the built in voltage regulator or will a lower loss external 3.3V regulator be required instead?

Has the Lopy sleep power been resolved and how can the modules be identified from the ones which have the issue?

                                        Thank you,

This has been resolved in all new the new development boards WiPy 3, FiPy, GPy and LoPy 4 as well as all the OEM modules including the L01.

For the existing LoPy (not the LoPy 4) the solution is still the deepsleep shield (complementary) or using the Pytrack/Pysense

I have two V1.0 Lopy's. I tried to reach the link from Surveymonkey from above, but the survey is currently closed. Is there a way to order these deepsleep shields?
