WiPy 2.0 came flashed with incomplete firmware.

I just got my wipy 2.0, and the firmware it came with was missing some crucial functions, such as
wlan.ifconfigand both reset cause constants in themachinemodule. What can I do to get the missing functions and constants? -
As the docs advice it is best to update to the latest firmware before using the product.
You can do this with the firmware update utility: link. -
Do you know how long the 'fetching info from device' stage should take? It seemed to get stuck there for me...

@BluCode A second or less.
Since you alsready have determined the ancient formware version, the serial connection (cable, port) should be working. And then:- did you close the terminal window?
- did you connect G23 and GND?
- did you reset the device after that?
- do cou have an internet connection up? The recent image is fetched during update.
