Why do I have to reset the board before syncing code?

Hi,
I'm using Pymakr 1.0.0b7 on a Linux Mint box, with a LoPy board. Whenever I want to sync my code with the board, I first have to reset it (using the reset button), otherwise sync always fails:

Syncing the project with the Pycom device. Please wait...
Syncing failed!

Most of the time, after a reset, I get:

Syncing the project with the Pycom device. Please wait...
Successfully synced!

although sometimes, I have to reset multiple times before getting sync to work

Any hint to make this interaction easier?

not sure it really solves the problem; I managed to sync twice without restarting and now, pymakr hangs in syncing a third time:

Syncing the project with the Pycom device. Please wait...

Moreover, I have to restart pymakr regularly otherwise, clicking on sync simply does nothing
