Dual processor operation?

I can't find much information about how the dual processor works with Pycom. It doesn't seem to be user accessible, but I'm not even sure about that. Is the second processor used automatically? I saw in one post that it is used for Wifi and BLE (no mention of LTE). Is that the only way it is used?
