so i dove into this a bit deeper and beleive this issue has to do with LTE.deinit not functioning properly in deepsleep when using WLAN. It's hard to explain as the correct factors which are unknown right now have to happen to cause this issue as it's not all the time.

@Kcsss Read the documentation here more carefully. The case is important! from network import LoRa import socket import ubinascii import struct # Initialise LoRa in LORAWAN mode. # Please pick the region that matches where you are using the device: # Asia = LoRa.AS923 # Australia = LoRa.AU915 # Europe = LoRa.EU868 # United States = LoRa.US915 lora = LoRa(mode=LoRa.LORAWAN, region=LoRa.EU868)

If I understand this correctly, this is not true CSMA, as the transmissions are inhibited by noise and not signal. It would seem like a better idea if transmission was only inhibited by a signal matching the current LoRa modem configuration. In shared unlicensed spectrum, all "users" must accept interference. There is probably no real motivation to avoid transmitting over "foreign" signals (LoRa or other modulations) that produce some level of energy in the receiver passband of the LoRa transmitter. Furthermore, the blocking signal might act as a "hidden transmitter" and only be detectable at the LoRa transmitter's location and have no affect on the SNR at the LoRa receiver's location. I'm not sure if such an alternative mode of operation is plausible. However, I would like the option to choose whether or not the listen before transmit mode is used, either in a fashion similar to the ability to set a socket into a blocking or non-blocking mode, or as an optional parameter to the socket send() call, for raw LoRa sockets. Come to think of it, perhaps I should have suggested this as a feature on github, but I've already typed it here, so I would be interested in any thoughts on this. Update: feature request on github is here.

Dear @shanefowler25, @shanefowler25 said in Bluetooth GATTSCharacteristic GPy: I just wasn't able to do a GET request for my application. May I humbly ask whether you wanted to connect using SSL here? I'm just asking because we didn't test these details thoroughly with our custom builds yet. @shanefowler25 said in Bluetooth GATTSCharacteristic GPy: Hopefully sometime in the future, there will be another update to the firmware that allows users to use Wifi/Bluetooth or Cellular/Bluetooth, without the program crashing and resetting the board. Issues around this "coexist" thing have even bitten Espressif Systems for quite a while, as outlined above. In this manner, the Pycom firmware is pretty much innocent here as it depends very much on the details coming from the ESP-IDF in this regard. @shanefowler25 said in Bluetooth GATTSCharacteristic GPy: My program would still crash when I used to Bluetooth to break the while loop of my program. While we are avid WiFi users, some people from our community are also approaching BLE these days. @poesel reported his observations on [1] and [2] already, but unfortunately he is currently traveling without being able to confirm our latest build would work better for him. He is using a GPy as well. @shanefowler25 said in Bluetooth GATTSCharacteristic GPy: I figured out a workaround that works for the application that I'm trying to do. Good that you found something that works for you. As we are currently trying to collect experiences from people affected by this issue on [3], we still ask anyone who could test the latest dragonfly builds. So, if you might find some time for that beyond working on your program, we would be more than happy to hear about the outcome. Thanks already and happy hacking. With kind regards, Andreas. @Jordan-Reyes Technically speaking Fipy (Fi as five perhaps...) is a 5G module. LTE-M and NB-IOT are inside 5G scope network. But if you have in minds higher data bandwith we must be wait some years i guess.

It's worth mentioning that you should turn off "Extensions: Auto Update" or it'll automatically put 1.1.0 back! This is also probably why it suddenly happened in the first place. I had to to restart VS Code once I changed this setting too, as it still auto updated a couple of times for me, before I did. (Preferences > Settings > Features > Extension Viewlet > Auto Update (can also search for auto update to get to this)

@crumble : do you have more information on this failure mode or found a work around? I think I have been bothered by something similar, See this post: Fipy does not always wake from deepsleep: My Fipy does not wake once in a while, and can only be recovered by pressing the reset button or power cycling the module. I can always wake it. Either by a reset from deepsleep or by Watchdog timer. It might be that in the case of the watchdog timer wakeup it is not deepsleep, and when it is in deepsleep it does not wake by the WDT. That would explain all the behaviour I observe. Needless to say is that I need it to go to deepsleep always for battery life reasons.

@robert-hh said in MicroPython 1.8.4 released: @martinnn This is just a kind of spam. This person is just pasting related or even not related material from the internet as contributions. That happens quite often. I do not know the purpose. You and me both. we get the strangest spam. Edit: Just to say thanks to those who report these. we do act and review all the reports. user above is now banned.

Try to cross compile the lib folder. It may be a memory fragmentation problem, so you cannot allocate the needed buffer size.

@timh I've already implemented internal watchdog but it doesn't help in case of Guru Meditation Error. @Martinnn You and I have the same problem. Thank you for suggestion, as I can see this watchdog times is not in a form of a development board like this one: https://shop.switchdoc.com/products/switchdoc-labs-dual-watchdog-timer-board-for-arduino-raspberry-pi?variant=3340467699742. Am I right? Thank in advance.
