FiPy Serial Stuck after a few Seconds

Im just getting started with the FiPy and i managed to get it updated with the Updater and even connected to PyBytes but within seconds of connecting to it over serial It seems to get stuck and is unresponsive and my only option is to reset it to get a command or two in before it stops again. Anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it? Its completely unusable as it is now.
