WiPy 3.0 & Expansion 3.1 - No serial connection over USB on Mac
-
Hi,
I just got a wipy 3.0, and expansion board 3.1. My dev machine is a MacBook Pro running OS X Mojave. My laptop has the USBC ports, so I have a USBC to USB adapter plugged into my laptop, and a USB to USB micro cable plugged into the adapter. The USB micro plug is connected to my expansion board.
I was able to successfully update the firmware on the expansion board, but when I try to connect to the WiPy through the VS Code plugin, it says that there is “No PyCom board found on USB”.
I also do not see the device when I look for it under /dev.
Any idea what’s going wrong here? The blue LED is blinking on the WiPy, but I can’t seem to get the serial connection to work over USB.

I got a resolution on this. The 3.1 Expansion board is bricked after the firmware update triggered the bug in the faulty A2 microcontroller. A replacement Expansion board is on the way.
NOTE: I was able to program my WiPy 3.0 using a USB-serial adapter instead.

Thank you @robert-hh. I just emailed the serial number of my expansion board to pycom support. I'll post an update once I get a reply.

It may be this bug.
