      Hi everyone..!
I am new to this galaxy of Pycom and micropython. I was trying to connect to pycom lopy4 using Pymakr vscode extension. Initially, it wasn't even showing the console. Thanks to all of you for posting solutions to this issue. I downgraded vscode version to 1.58.2 ! and pymakr version is the latest 1.1.18.
      It now shows the terminal.
However, I am it doesn't connect to the pycom board and keeps showing connecting COM7 ...

      • i have verified the serial port it is correct.
      • I have also tried to connect using PuTTy using 115200 baud rate and flow control :No
      • I have also tried using Ubuntu 20.4 -- Vscode pymakr + Picocom and Screen as well
      • But it keeps showing Connecting to port ....
      • on ubuntu, I have a user to dialout group as well.

Could you please help out to resolve this issue??

      Thanks in advance.!

@Mogambo-Khan You should be able to connect to the board using Ubuntu and just pico com at a baud rate of 115200. Which usb-serial interface do you use? The expansion board?

@Mogambo-Khan What happens when you connect with picocom and push reset at the board? Which tty device do you connect to?

@Mogambo-Khan OK. So you are on the right port. Just the firmware does not start. Try loading the LoPy4 firmware again. Which firmware did you use?

@Mogambo-Khan Is it the pybytes or pygate firmware? In any case, try a legacy firmware version.
You can as well try this one built by me, which I know it works on my LoPy4 devices: https://github.com/robert-hh/Shared-Stuff/blob/master/LoPy4-1.20.2.r6.tar.gz

@Mogambo-Khan Older Pycom versions of the firmware are here: https://docs.pycom.io/advance/downgrade/
It may be that a PyBytes firmware does not work any more since Pycom got bankrupt.

@robert-hh it is pybyte firmware. Anyways, thanks for your response! I will update the firmware and see if it works for me...
                        thanks again!

Hello everyone, if you are seeing this comment !... So coming back to the problem I had. Since I was beginner so I tried almost all the tools and tricks to connect the pycom lopy4 using pymakr and vscode.
But the issue was resolved by updating the firmware of the module to the latest one.
Hence if you are having such issues don't forget to update the firmware.

                          thanks to Robert, btw!
