@ssmith If you need a hard reset, you could connect a GPIO pin to Reset and pull that low. I have experienced the SD card issue too, which seems to require a pyhsical reset signal. But I dod not follow up that yet, whther it's a missimng software init of the SD card interface/driver, or a pysical reset signal missing.

@jmarcelino thanks - maybe I was a bit unclear: I DO see ID and PAC but I thought that ID, PAC and MAC (or is the MAC address the same as the PAC?) would be visible via FTP in /flash/, for the MAC I thought it would be in /flash/sys/lpwan.mac, but after upgrading the firmware, all of the folders are empty

@papasmurph Exactly. I've been trying to use a complex exponential relationship with some empirically based factors but because I have different types of device, the relative numbers between device types are awful. The simplest approach is the best so far!

Thanks for the reminder @iotmaker, with the new Sigfox signal analyser this should be much easier to debug.

Hello, Thank you for pointing that out. I changed the pins to G30 (sleep) and G13 (wakeup) and now the system works fine. So, the new code is: from machine import Pin, Timer from deepsleep import DeepSleep import deepsleep def handler(button): ds.enable_pullups('G31') # can also do ds.enable_pullups(['P17', 'P18']) ds.enable_wake_on_fall('G31') # can also do ds.enable_wake_on_fall(['P17', 'P18']) print("Button pushed") ds.go_to_sleep(20) ds = DeepSleep() # get the wake reason and the value of the pins during wake up wake_s = ds.get_wake_status() print(wake_s) if wake_s['wake'] == deepsleep.PIN_WAKE: print("Pin wake up") elif wake_s['wake'] == deepsleep.TIMER_WAKE: print("Timer wake up") else: # deepsleep.POWER_ON_WAKE: print("Power ON reset") button=Pin("G30",Pin.IN, pull=Pin.PULL_UP) irq=button.callback(trigger=button.IRQ_FALLING, handler=handler) print('booted---')

Ok, thanks for this - didnt see that one. And what are your thoughts on making sure i can resume the deepsleep. For thi, I really need to be able to send the data every 30mins. If its getting restarted because of a deepsleep wake, how do I know how far into the deepsleep the device was so that I dont get a wake 29mins into the deepsleep, and then go to sleep again for another 30mins once the wake is processed? I hope this makes sense. Its almost like I need to write the remaining time to a variable, save the variable in NVRAM, and then call that once the device has been reset. What do you think?

@jcaron It worked! My bad. Didn't even think about that. I erased flash memory and uploaded most recent firmware. Thank you @robert-hh as well. For the future, are there any best practices for connecting/disconnecting, from both a hardware and software standpoint. e.g. my boot.py file: import os from machine import UART uart = UART(0, 115200) os.dupterm(uart) Should I include anything else?

I know this is very old and by now you may have caught it, but your if loop will always execute. The line if mac=='665544332211' or '111111111111': <do stuff> is interpreted as if (mac == '665544332211') or ('111111111111') This always evaluates as True, because bool('111111111111') is True. I believe the only string that can evaluate to False is the empty string. This may be part of your problem. What you need is something like if (mac == '665544332211') or (mac == '111111111111') And if it's a larger list then you can do something like if mac in ['665544332211', '111111111111', ...]

@jcaron - I don't really have the facility to capture the actual Wifi messaging, but this may highlight the issue. I'm not using any other radios and primarily using and external antenna, but tried the internal too. The WDT in the boot.py seems to be working well - been running for 24 hours and keeps reporting - previously rarely got more than an hour. I can see the WDT kicking in and doing it's job. I guess this is the sort of thing the WDT was designed for!! Thanks for your help.

Hi everyone. I want to tell you that I have already solved the problem. There is a conflict with the line in which I declare a Pin as output and the moment in which it is transmitted: Pin('P5', mode=Pin.OUT, value=1) What I did was change the pin to P13, this ended the problem and I was able to transmit without any inconvenience and see the data in the Sigfox Backend.: Pin('P13', mode=Pin.OUT, value=1) [image: 1504880079593-upload-1af3b981-1883-46c5-afa3-16dfe2bcb8ef.png]

@dommei I have always been in an area near the Sigfox network and don't know of a way to get data into the Sigfox back end any other way. If you just want to get the data for testing you can just save it to an SD card if you have the PySense or Pytrack or wifi. Or are you trying to export the data from the Sigfox back end into a database? If this is the case you are trying to get some test data into the Sigfox backend. I have no idea how to do this Sorry. https://resources.sigfox.com/document/callbacks-documentation might help?

@jmarcelino Thank you for sharing this. To add to this question, are there code example of we can persist an array of structs to the file system? I have a clear idea of how I want to implement a simple persistent database but I cant find micropython examples of doing so. The btree library would have been great but I realised I couldnt use it in this version of the port.
