  Hi Andreas, Thanks for your pointers. We have found through investigation that the issue is nothing to do with how we are using the filesystem (which is now not at all) but to do with the pycom firmware itself. With our code built with version 1.20 onwards any brownout condition rapidly causes the filesystem to be lost and subsequently causes the device to enter a continual watchdog reboot cycle. This is only recoverable by using the command line tools to erase the filesystem and then reflash the firmware and download the main.py file. With our code built with version 1.18 operation under brownout condition is completely stable. The filesystem is never lost and we never encounter the continual watchdog reboot state. Something significant has changed in regards to handling the flash memory between versions 1.18 and 1.20 that has caused this. This renders 1.20 unusable for our purposes. Going forward we'll have to remain with version 1.18 until this issue is fixed. Thanks for your help and the useful links you provided. Cheers Scott.

  Thanks for your help. We've been able to recover these continual reboot devices by using the command line tools. Doing further testing with version 1.18.1.r2 I found I cannot recreate the continual boot issue caused by brownout conditions. However with 1.20.2.rc7 I saw a two stage process, first under brownout the filesystem was blanked and reset, then under further brownout conditions the device entered the continual reboot state. I'll close this issue, thanks for your help, will also be moving to LittleFS to see if that makes things more robust.

I get the socket problem OSError: [Errno 118] EHOSTUNREACH if I haven't contacted to the server for more than about half a minute. I find the only way to fix this is to disconnect then reconnect the modem. Wondering why deinit(detach=False,reset=False) does not work in this situation? Thanks thanks my issue has been fixed.

They are generally used on a very busy bus were the micro is unable to cope with the rate of messages arriving. It is also worth checking some physical things. Do you have the 120ohm terminating resistors on your bus? Pin 8 to ground to take the MCP2562 out of standby mode? Also the MCP2562 needs 5V supply (but can operate at 3.3v logic level). I have used SN65HVD230DR with esp32 successfully, it has 3v3 supply and logic level. It might also be worth getting a chatavenue chatroulette ometv simple scope to look at what is happening on your bus, even a really cheap one will be okay, as you just need to see the pattern and levels are roughly okay. thanks for the information.

  @guyc Be advised, my experience with rc6 was that the GPy broadcast the SSID only one time which was enough to get it in the cache device wanting to connect but not enough to connect. Downgrading to rc2 worked for me.
