Issue with DFU firmware update using Expansion board 3.0r

I may be being dense; but I am having problems with the DFU upload under OS X 10.15.1 crashing out with the message "dfu-util: Cannot set alt interface zero"

I know there is a known issue on the newer PCBs with the PIC interface chip here.

I've just tried to update firmware of my Expansion Board v3.0 and faced the same issue. Does anyone knows how to fix it?
