@Omer-Mughal I would not do a fresh start with Pycom products. The company went bankrupt a year ago, the products are discontinued by the follow-up company, and there is no support anymore by Pycom. Only the web sites are still online. But yes, making distributed measurements is a good application for LoRa, and Pycom products had a good support for LoRa. But there are many others. Look at the TTN pages.

@James-Pruet This combination of a STM32 with ARM7 core and Muarata radio is on a Pyboard D-SF6, and works pretty well.

@Pierre-JUHEN can you let us know which version of the firmware you are using? I vaguely remember something about this issue a long while ago, but I don’t remember if that was fixed or not, and if so, in which version.

@robert-hh Thanks, It would help if the examples given on the pycom site actually worked rather than being utterly wrong! Richard.

@Yusuf-BAYLAV let’s note for clarification that the Pygate version of the firmware of the LoPY or FiPy does not include support for LoRa end-device operations. So one would need to use the “regular” version of the firmware with no support for the Pygate.

Well I would say yes, NB-IoT and LTE CAT-M1 are grandfathered in as a part of the 5G-standard as well as 4G.

@neil-jepsen I’m not sure the issue is cash (though I have no idea of their financial situation). I think it’s more a lack of focus, continuously announcing new vapourware while not addressing issues in existing products or finishing products they have already sold (Pygo anyone?). I understand their plight, I’m the kind of guy always more interested in the shiny new thing over there, but at some point the business side should take over and set a clear direction and follow it through. There also seems to be quite a bit of turnover. It looks like @Gijs is no longer around, following a few others who tried to sort some things out for a while and then disappeared.

@robert-hh I don't think I created any kickstarter account I ordered the device directrly through pycom store with paypal checkout and obviously no account was required. I could find the invoice in my mailbox so I'll get in touch with sale service to get more information Thanks for your help,

@Nassim-LABDAOUI for this you need to perform an LTE modem firmware update. Unfortunately, you can not simply switch between LTE and NB-IoT by command. The reason is that the firmware for CAT-M1 and NB-IoT are fundamentally different. Further information can be found under the following link in the documentation: https://docs.pycom.io/updatefirmware/ltemodem/

@Jose-Calero as far as I know, pins of the FiPy and other modules do not match the numbering of the pins of the ESP32… there’s other stuff than just an ESP32 on the board, so it’s impossible to have a one-to-one mapping between ESP32 and modules. Or maybe I have misunderstood what you are trying to say. Including links of what documents you refer to in either side, and exactly what pins you are referring to on each might help.
