Json on the sd is come up to my mind also for config, I will give a try with that. :) I hoped, that there is an easier solution for source code protection, but it seems there isn't. Still thanks for your suggestion.

@robert-hh Thanks, I am working on a very small laptop so I didn't see that as it wasn't very obvious :-)

@dda Are you sure that you are not mixing up number schemes P and G? P9 and P10 are the default pins for SDA and SCA, and these are not used for the SD card. Besides that, switching uses might be possible, but you would have to re-init and re-mount every time between each access. Better change the board.

@robert-hh Hello, i have tested with a multiple LiPo batteries from 300 ma - 8000 mah. same issue. I monitor the voltage via a web service, but only all 3 minutes. I can't see any spikes. I think its a inferences problem with the i2c bus. I think I have a EMV problem. but I want to log the output from the board to get a answer.

@livius said in What is the maximum size (capacity) supported for the SD card?: @Eric24 said in What is the maximum size (capacity) supported for the SD card?: It is 32GB - but as described somwhere on the forum it will be increased in the future firmware releases thanks my issue has been fixed.

@mrainone @daniel Behavior confirmed. I added a few print statements between the lines to see where it fails. Sometimes it passed through the script, sometimes it just stalled, sometimes I get an guru mediation error. In case of failure, it happened at the statement: sd = SD() Pasting the scripts into REPL always works. The core dump starts with (calling for saint Daniel): /Users/danicampora/Code/Pycom/esp-idf-2017-03-12/components/freertos/./queue.c:1444 (xQueueGenericReceive)- assert failed! abort() was called at PC 0x40085501 Guru Meditation Error: Core 0 panic'ed (abort) Backtrace: 0x40008155:0x3ffc5670 0x40007d16:0x3ffc5690 0x40125065:0x3ffc56d0 0x4019e230:0x3ffc5700 0x401977b4:0x3ffc5720 0x40197ba6:0x3ffc5770 0x400e0ee0:0x3ffc57a0 0x400df756:0x3ffc57f0 0x400f2b8e:0x3ffc5830 0x400eace0:0x3ffc5850 0x400f62e8:0x3ffc5870 0x400ee697:0x3ffc5910 0x400eace0:0x3ffc5990 0x400eb776:0x3ffc59b0 0x400f3d46:0x3ffc5a40 0x400f40b5:0x3ffc5a70 0x400eb602:0x3ffc5b50 0x400f65d4:0x3ffc5b90 0x400ee697:0x3ffc5c30 0x400eace0:0x3ffc5cb0 0x400ead09:0x3ffc5cd0 0x400d8c38:0x3ffc5cf0 0x400d8eb3:0x3ffc5d80 0x400d7f76:0x3ffc5dc0 ================= CORE DUMP START ================= YCgAAAwAAABsAQAA 6D38P7BV/D9QX/w/ wFT8P/Be/D8ubAAA7Dr8P+w6/D/oPfw/5Dr8PxQAAAAMf/s/DH/7P+g9/D8AAAAA BQAAAFQ//D9NaWNyb1B5AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFBf/D8AAAAAIQAGAAUAAAABAAAA AAAAAMhm/D8AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAC4MPs/IDH7P4gx+z8AAAAAAAAAAAEAAAAAAAAA iKNCPwAAAABIHQBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgAAAA== KYEIgFWBAEA2BwYAFn0AgHBW/D97AAAAewAAABAAAAD/////AAAAAOv///9UOfw/ AQAAACQAAAAkAAAACAAAAP////8AAAAA/////wUAAAABAAAAAAAAAODCAED2wgBA AAAAAAgAAAD/////aBAIQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

@jmarcelino I put the code in main.py : from machine import SD import os sd = SD() os.mount(sd, '/sd') f = open('/sd/test.csv', 'a') it worked but just the first time also in REPL and when I restart my lopy I get: OSError in os.mount(sd, '/sd') like: OSError: the requested operation is not possible I suppose that the SDcard remains mounted and we can not mount it a second time in this case we must check if it is already mounted and then writing on it

@constantinos The pins are on the Expansion Board data sheet: https://docs.pycom.io/pycom_esp32/_downloads/exp_v03_pinout_v13.pdf SD_CMD, SD_DATA, SD_CLK

@soren You have to mount the SD card first, before you can see it in ftp. The format I'm using is FAT32. A sample mount sequence is below, taken from the docs. # import os import machine sd = machine.SD() os.mount(sd, '/sd')

@jmarcelino Thanks for the clear explanation. I asked again because i read somewhere that it was possible, but i can't find that page anymore. But maybe that was the original pyboard too. Well, then I will continue without :)

@daniel I just test this and the behaviour is still as before. Trying to initialize the SD card without a SD inserted raises a OSError exception, which is OK. my English is bad and when i wrote Something was changed. than this was only assumption - i do not test this with current 1.6.3 firmware i tested this on 1.5.0 and it worked - and if for @kanu it does not work then i supposed that he tested this with current firmware Card detection is simply done via a GPIO pin good point - i must connect it :)
