  You have to go through all steps, the bootloader is not encrypted from the beginning. I am not sure about the error. Did you boot into bootloader mode, if not, that might be your problem.

  You can specify the Lora region via the Lora() constructor in your code instead. I believe (but will have to confirm) that the drop down setting it only used when dealing with pybytes. I will confirm this however. Example for the EU868 region: lora = LoRa(mode=LoRa.LORAWAN, region=LoRa.EU868)

  @martinnn If you build the firmware from the sources you get the most recent version. These numers are in the file pycom_version.h. At the moment it tells 1.18.2. Revision tags are not added often to the repository. So you see just a few of them.

  @nagesh-divatagi please provide more details, including at least the hardware (modules, antennas) and firmware used, the relevant parts of your code on both sides, the distance, whether you’re indoors or outdoors, and what you actually get (logs, stats...).

  @robert-hh This is not working well. During make skdconfig.h is replaced by make GENCONFIG (that is using wifi/scan/sdkconfig). The best is to modify that config. However moving the freq from 160 to 80 -> it saves only 7mA ... I expected to be more. So LoPY+shield with Wifi disable is consuming 35mA.

  @shariq Obviously you can set up your own ntp server, if you like, which is called instead of the ntp server pool on the internet. if you get the date & time from a different source, like an external rtc, you can use rtc.init() to set the local date & time.
