    @robert-hh A usage of the I2C hardware implementation was just a guess because I2C with the 8266 was such a mess. I wanted to use a MPU9250 and checked the clock bus using an TDS2024B oscilloscope. Every pulse of the clock signal was a mess (and different from each other!) so I thought that the WiPy with the ESP32 uses the hardware implementation because it worked out of the box. @jmarcelino Thank you for clearing things up!

    @Innocenzo The latter is easy, I have that in all of my espxxx's main.py: wlan = network.WLAN(network.STA) for _ in range(10): if wlan.isconnected(): print('\nnetwork config:', wlan.ifconfig()) break print('.', end='') time.sleep(1) else: print("\nCould not connect")

    Hi @KMcLoud - I'm just having a look into this for you! I'll get the docs updated to reflect this as you're right, this isn't very clear!

    Hi Everyone, Ok, so it looks like at the end, it is not that bad to use a While(True) to generate an infinite loop. I know that a ON/OFF LED is not really a good example. thank you everyone for the comments Cheers ColombianAus

    @michalt38 first you must connect to wifi https://docs.pycom.io/pycom_esp32/pycom_esp32/tutorial/includes/wlan.html then you must create socket and send data https://docs.pycom.io/pycom_esp32/library/usocket.html and then use send

    SOLVED - I powered the stepper motor separately and all is good. I'm guessing there were transient demands in excess of the 800mA I could measure that were causing problems.

    According to the data sheet, the maximum input voltage for a digital input is 3.3V. The maximum input voltage for the analog Pins vary according to the attenuator setting and should not higher than the analog range. I remeber to have seen a spec about that, but cannot find it again. If you connect a switch with a longish wire, please add protection circuitry, at least an RC lowpass (e.g. 100k in series/1nF to GND) element as close as possible to the input to suppress spikes. Please not

    No, the callback handler can be inside a class. But then the handler must have self as first additional argument. Example (ESP8266 one, but principle should work) with ISR fucntion sample. class acquire: def __init__(self): self.adc_read = machine.ADC(0).read self.data = array.array("L", [0] * _BUFFERSIZE) self.index_put = 0 def sample(self, x): self.data[self.index_put] = self.adc_read() self.index_put = (self.index_put + 1) % _BUFFERSIZE self.irq_busy = False

    Thank you, this has solved the issue: pin_int = Pin('P10', mode=Pin.IN, pull=Pin.PULL_DOWN) pin_int.callback(Pin.IRQ_RISING, pin_handler)

    I find it very hard to understand what your are trying to achieve. It seems that you would like to get certain characteristics from specific BLE devices. You'll have to iterate through the list and select your specified devices using an if-loop. For example: while bluetooth.isscanning(): if bluetooth.get_adv(): if [your_ble_device_mac] == binascii.hexlify(bluetooth.get_adv()[0]).decode(): print ("Short name is: ", bluetooth.resolve_adv_data(adv.data, Bluetooth.ADV_NAME_SHORT)) else: print("no known devices") else: print("No adv") Something like that will work. Sorry for low readability. Please upvote me or something, I can only post every 600s.
