Hi @amartinez, There's a really good explanation about GATT (Generic Attribute Profile) here - https://learn.adafruit.com/introduction-to-bluetooth-low-energy/gatt Currently BLE is the protocol available but classic Bluetooth will be coming in the future! Thanks!

@Arkaik In the list of commits, you have to go back to an entry with the title "Bump to version 1.4.0.b1". There you find the fingerprint. It's not a long way. In you first port you mentioned 1.4.0b1. But now you mention 1.0.4b1. About esp-idf. Do use the version indicated by the pycom web site.Try to checkout the most recent version before the date of the wipy firmwar you are using. That might get a little bit of a trial & error game.

Hi @Eric24, I might be incorrect on this but I believe that when you wake from deep sleep, the device should start up with the radios turned off. Regardless, you should be able to configure the radios to remain off at power on by tweaking and building the firmware yourself. I'll make this suggestion to have an option to disable radios baked into our official Firmware itself.

@pwest We've found out how. On iBeacon, when you read the data you get an Array. You need to do int(lastHexValue, 16) and then -256. This results in the set TxPower the BLE Beacon has Edit: this site explains very well how the iBeacon protocoll is built, aswell as to where to find the TxPower: http://www.warski.org/blog/2014/01/how-ibeacons-work/

@salvoaerodev Sure, I hope this bug will be fixed soon as it could be nice to reupgrade firmware for already fixed bugs.

@berni I don't know if the bug was solved in new firmware releases, You should try the same code on the 1.4.0.b1 version, maybe it'll solve your problem.

@jmarcelino Just checking if this is resolved. I am still not able to connect to BLE device when using Bluetooth.RANDOM_ADDR.

I know this is an old topic I started but it seems like there is even less documentation now on this topic of using the BLE device as a peripheral. It would be nice if the documentation better represented common functionality and how the functionality is intended to be used with this device. I tried to use those links that had reference to using the BLE device as a peripheral but the link was broken.
