Our scenario is that we are currently not using the LTE modem of the FiPy and want to get power consumption as low as possible. We are humbly asking for your experience here, especially with the latest firmware releases. Also, I just stumbled over lte.send_at_cmd('AT!="powerOff"'), which also does not sound that bad ;]. Maybe this will shut down the modem in the quickest way possible without going through all procedures of the regular lte.deinit().   @robert-hh thank you for your response. Actually, i intend to have text based ASCII from image. I also want to do this conversion in the pycom lopy 4 with very low resolution image file(Your opinion on whether lopy 4 can support). Meanwhile, I'm trying that in Raspi and I will seek your help.   Thanks for replying. I just do some testing and it is true that in some random time, the device didnt go to deepsleep but rather skip that step entirely. What i did to test this is running script where it report will to server within 1 second non stop unless it go to machine.deepsleep step. Base on report, it skip deepsleep stage twice in the last few hours. Do you know or anyone know where i can find more about this problem ? I have been looking in the forum but not much

  I would try to monitor the length of the output queue. See _io_thread_func in MQTTMsgHandler.py - in there there's the transmit loop and you could add some signaling there to indicate the TX queue is empty. You'll probably need to modify the code and rename the function so you are not using the builtin frozen ones.

  @dexter12 Our application is remote pump management in Australia. Currently using raspberry PIs with usb cell modems. The PI has full python & is a nice platform but usb modem choices are limited. The built in modem on the gpy is a nice idea but the limited repertoire of micropython makes code porting a pain but worth it to have another string to the bow.

  @tutu10 I am not aware of any LoRa solutions, but https://github.com/armmbed/mbed-os-example-lorawan-fuota has instructions for fota over LoRaWAN for arm-based nodes.
