  Hi @Andrea-Filippini, This is almost ready to be deployed, Daniel has some final tweaks he wants to make before we push this up to the firmware. Slightly confusingly, we already have the documentation live for this but are just waiting to push it to the firmware. Thanks for your patience! Alex

  @livius Node should talk about each hour (or maybe less, but I don't think I'll go lower than 10 minutes) do to a keep alive and update informations or "right away" if there's a trigger trigged (alarm). I'm pretty sure the hardware can do it, I was less sure about the MicroPython (I saw there was some limitation if we compare to the Python3). I'll order some for testing I guess ! :)

  Hey @livius, that did the trick, again! Thx a lot, that makes even easier the deployment process, and i´ve also learned pretty nice stuff in the meanwhile. By the way, i first tried to make it work by cloning the project 'master' branch, but that code wasn´t making the deal yet. To make things work i had to clone the 'devel' branch (that by the way it´s weird because it´s one version behind 0.9.3 than master 0.9.4). Thx a lot again man, saved my life!

  OK This seems to be a restriction introduced by LoRa Alliance. It seems a join request uses AlternateDatarate() to cycle over datarates 0-5 in way that makes 5 dominant. See below for the first cycles.   @bucknall I was wondering the same. I found that the necessary changes are on this line: { MODEM_LORA, REG_LR_PAYLOADMAXLENGTH, 0x40 },\ As 0x40 is 64 and is this that is limiting the payload size.

  Hi @athtest800 Yes! You can do both uplink and downlink messages with the LoPy as a LoRaWAN nano-gateway. You'll see that in the examples, within the docs, there is a method for the device to connect via OTAA. This method of connection requires the gateway to send an ACK, message back to the device, confirming that it's connected. This is a form of downlink message! If you're using the Things Network, you can set up your downlink messages using their backend platform. Thanks, Alex

  @robert-hh Thank you, that makes perfect sense. I knew that (the 7-bit address), but it didn't register with me because the datasheet for the PCF8593 says it's I2C address is 0xA2, but now that I look at it again, they are including the R/W bit. To much late-night prototyping. :o

  The most pythonish way is to assume that the file file or directory exists. A simple approach could be: try: os.stat(filename) #if here file or dir exists except: #if here file or dir does not exist

  @jmarcelino I put the code in main.py : from machine import SD import os sd = SD() os.mount(sd, '/sd') f = open('/sd/test.csv', 'a') it worked but just the first time also in REPL and when I restart my lopy I get: OSError in os.mount(sd, '/sd') like: OSError: the requested operation is not possible I suppose that the SDcard remains mounted and we can not mount it a second time in this case we must check if it is already mounted and then writing on it

  Thanks for the details on boot mode @jmarcelino, PyCom could put a bit more detail in the docs regarding this - the pin out diagram suggests it should work regardless and that it is working now, not a to be added feature. Regarding the firmware update issue I have resolved it :-) Turns out I was needing a pull-up resistor on the Reset pin - my guess is that noise from the serial pins was enough to cause a reset during the update or maybe I was just lucky the the time I added the resistor. I was also able to recover my second board with the resistor in place adding weight to the pull-up being required theory. Thanks for everyone's help. Cheers Dave

  @blsmith Using the OEM module + baseboard reference design is practically the same as buying the WiPy, LoPy, etc kits. If you don't want to design a custom board buying the development kit is probably the best option.
