  Dear @embidan and @johand, if you feel lucky, you might want to try one of our custom builds just released at [1,2]. More background about this is available through [3]. Please be aware that you will have to erase your device completely before flashing in order to keep things straight. You will find respective references to this on the forum. Hint: Use pycom-fwtool-cli --port /dev/ttyUSB0 erase_all, see also [4]. With kind regards, Andreas.   Any update on this? I am receiving the same infinite LTE attach loop. I was once able to get things working by re-running the CATM1-41065.dup but the problem is back and running the modem firmware upgrade does not fix it. Any help is awesome!

  @combaindeft So why Pycom did not upgrade its library or micropyGPS - I am still getting I2C Bus Error when trying to read GPS with micropyGPS...

  @louislewis2 You can of course use the SiPy as a plain ESP32 device. Only GPIO5, 19 and 27 are connected to the CC1125 radio chip. The Sigfox modules are not published as source. There is only a library, which also includes the Python API. The only thing accessible is a header file and the API with the Sigfox class hook. So using that would be pretty much work. But you may find other software packages for that CC1125 radio device. The Texas Instruments web site should be a good start.

  @aqi And can you tell by looking at the output of os.listdir() that this is the new code? If yes, try to start that code from the REPL prompt.

  @paulS The funny thing is, that AT+SMDD seems nowhere to be documented. Your log indicates, that attach("band=8") will fail, since the attach() API code will check the response from the command AT+SMDD. It seems that you have the latest firmware, but an old hardware.

  Your solar panel shunt zener limits the max panel voltage to 6v2. Forward drop across the 48v zener would be about 0.6v so max voltage across the USB from the panel should be about 6.2-0.6=5v6. USB is normally max 5V but you'd think you'd get away with the extra 0.6v . You sure you didn't get the zeners mixed up?

  @Thosch42 Meanwhile I can confirm you are right. It turns out the I²C only works with the latest FW version. And the modules are shipped with an older version. It turns out you need to ask the importer (not Quectel itself) about this. They are going to provide a link with download for FW and upgrade tool since it is not available on the Quectel website. Thanks for the tip about the FW version!
