@iotoz I've ordered 3 pairs and waiting to be delivered to some time this week. I don't have a Gateway yet. I want to use the LoPy as Nano Gateway. I hope I can get it working.

@jmarcelino Thanks for your answer! There are indeed different kinds. The fiberglass containers I saw didn't have much metal, except for the frame and rear part -- the refrigeration unit.. But the foam indeed could be a problem. I guess I am going to have to enlist the help of a shipping company to let me do quick tests... A big challenge indeed. But quite interesting. Cheers

@nukeburns Not sure what you mean. For FTP changes to stick between boots you to put the server.init() code to change the credentials into boot.py

C.H.I.P. (getchip.com) is a small computer running Linux. It has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. LoPy is a micro-computer that runs run Python programs (using a mostly hidden real-time operating system). It has built-in Bluetooth (with basic support so far), Wi-Fi and a LoRa radio. To communicate with a mobile phone (which has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) you have many options, including: C.H.I.P -- Wi-Fi --> LoPy -- LoRa --> LoPy -- Wi-Fi --> phone C.H.I.P -- Wi-Fi --> LoPy -- LoRa --> LoPy -- Bluetooth --> phone C.H.I.P -- Bluetooth --> LoPy -- LoRa --> LoPy -- Bluetooth --> phone C.H.I.P -- wired SPI --> LoPy -- LoRa --> LoPy -- Bluetooth --> phone C.H.I.P -- USB --> LoPy -- LoRa --> LoPy -- Bluetooth --> phone etc... The first option may be the simplest to implement today.

@assia Yes, I believe this fix came in 1.8.7 - so please update your firmware and give this another try! If in doubt and you run into an issue, it's always a good idea to check for a firmware update. Our board's are mature now but occasionally bugs are found and we aim to get them fixed asap! Cheers!

@ssmith Yes it's perfectly fine. If you measure at the 5V pin while powering from the 3.3v you'll see the voltage minus the minus the internal diode drop of the high side FET (should read about 3v or slightly less). I wouldn't recommend leaving other devices attached to 5V pin as they may be powered by that backfeed through the diode and potentially overheat it, but I don't see a problem to leave it floating. There may be some very small extra consumption (a few μA? I'd need to order the TI eval kit to be sure) caused by this so, for optimal power consumption, you really should go plan for the L01 OEM module soldered on the PCB.

@robert-hh hello robert, thanks for all the great help - it's really awesome!! I managed to figure out, when booting in safe mode - that i can temporarily connect via ftp again (because the boot.py is bypassed).. and thus make changes to the boot.py. soo.. the thing is though, that it seems the lopy does not care AT ALL about what I put into the boot.py script now, even after unplugging the short between G28 and 3v (which I assume should make it go back to loading boot and main). EDIT tinkering more about, it turned out I had to set the heartbeat to false in order to use the rgbled onboard the lopy. well done soren. anyway, it is indeed responding now, but setting up the thing with custom wlan configuration is really difficult. this topic has become pretty messy. I tried to change the topic name, but got a message that i couldn't.. it is pretty misleading atm. are there any admins on here?

I saw this commit in ESP-IDF logs today and remembered this thread. https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/commit/5d5b625d0e9d266e66f059d5655dc2e9590aca0e Looks like 2-stop bit mode should be fixed soon.

@Clemens Thank you Clemens to pointing this out for me , Actually the Maximum Payload is 64B for the Lopy . i was thinking that packets were cut internally but not. Nice to see that no one had this problem before. I have already bypassed the problem by cutting the packets. Thanks again .
