@jcaron I have fiddled around more and more using your questions and came to this conclusion: one of the solder points on the SSD1306 was not completely right. This mostly manifested when cables were bent differently, but must have also thrown problems when the bus was being used for other sensors somehow. The exact reason as to why i2c.scan() had an extremely high correlation with the display working - I don't know. Electricity is weird. Other nodes that had I2C problems also suffered mostly from badly soldered contact points, and it seems like all problems have been resolved now. Thanks for the patience and questions as it ultimately led me to the real culprit. Case closed - lesson learned: always check your contact points even if it works.

The LoPy4 Pin-Out does not show other connections, but these may exist on an expansion board, like the VBatt divider at P16, the User Button at P14 and the Accelerator IRQ at P13. @robert-hh thanks for this reminder; it solved my troubles eventually. One of the LoPy seems to be defective, but on all others, everything is fine now after moving around some pins. Thanks!

Hi, I've replied on your other thread about the same topic, so this is just for reference for anyone that finds this in the future. Nanogateways are generally pretty outdated these days. 8 channel gateways are so much cheaper than they were a few years ago few people are using nanogateways. There was a big update to the TTN API around a year ago, and I think they removed the legacy packet format, and Pycom haven't updated to it as so few people are using them. Unfortunately this means it is unlikely you will get this working.

@Liudmila-Dobriakova said in Can't connect to my LoPy4 board: so, means what the FiPy will be dropped as well, since it's also ESP32 based? this is really pitty... Yes. It seems that only the new F01 board will be available then, if at all.

@jmarcelino I am trying to put Lopy4 in low power mode, switching off wifi but without success. when i call wlan.deinit(), i receive a sort of reboot such as: Guru Meditation Error: Core 0 panic'ed (StoreProhibited). Exception was unhandled. Core 0 register dump: .... ================= CORE DUMP END ================= Rebooting... what could be the reason?

@Gaurav-Rajput machine.deepsleep(sleep_time_ms) is what you can use.

Or, as in my case, the "Boot" microswitch on my dev board was broken and pulling the pin to ground.

@Liudmila-Dobriakova I mean the spaces before and/or after the ˋ\r\n`. You are probably also missing a Content-Length.

Hi @robert-hh, I tried, sadly still no success. Here is what I see in my TTN gateway activity. It does not allow me to put a picture so I am adding as a code: Receive uplink message JoinEUI: something DevEUI: something Data rate: SF7BW125 The output of node LoPy as follows: Not yet joined... Here is my code on node: """ OTAA Node example compatible with the LoPy Nano Gateway """ from network import LoRa import socket import binascii import struct import time import config # initialize LoRa in LORAWAN mode. # Please pick the region that matches where you are using the device: # Asia = LoRa.AS923 # Australia = LoRa.AU915 # Europe = LoRa.EU868 # United States = LoRa.US915 lora = LoRa(mode=LoRa.LORAWAN, region=LoRa.EU868) # create an OTA authentication params dev_eui = binascii.unhexlify('something') app_eui = binascii.unhexlify('something') app_key = binascii.unhexlify('something') # set the 3 default channels to the same frequency (must be before sending the OTAA join request) lora.add_channel(0, frequency=config.LORA_FREQUENCY, dr_min=0, dr_max=5) lora.add_channel(1, frequency=config.LORA_FREQUENCY, dr_min=0, dr_max=5) lora.add_channel(2, frequency=config.LORA_FREQUENCY, dr_min=0, dr_max=5) # join a network using OTAA lora.join(activation=LoRa.OTAA, auth=(dev_eui, app_eui, app_key), timeout=0, dr=config.LORA_NODE_DR) # wait until the module has joined the network while not lora.has_joined(): time.sleep(2.5) print('Not joined yet...') # remove all the non-default channels for i in range(3, 16): lora.remove_channel(i) # create a LoRa socket s = socket.socket(socket.AF_LORA, socket.SOCK_RAW) # set the LoRaWAN data rate s.setsockopt(socket.SOL_LORA, socket.SO_DR, config.LORA_NODE_DR) # make the socket non-blocking s.setblocking(False) time.sleep(5.0) for i in range (200): pkt = b'PKT #' + bytes([i]) print('Sending:', pkt) s.send(pkt) time.sleep(4) rx, port = s.recvfrom(256) if rx: print('Received: {}, on port: {}'.format(rx, port)) time.sleep(6)

@jcaron Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, I have my own app on the phone. What do you mean exactly by "writing to a characteristic" ? My current code is already able to receive messages. Is that already what you are talking about ? You mean that the phone should send a message using this feature as soon as it connects ? If that is what you are talking about, then yeah it could be solution. I'll look into that.

@seb Is it possible to use this method with encrypted flash? I mean, is application capable of writing/modifying the json file if the flash is encrypted? And if so, does these changes count for those 3 FW flashs overs USB?
