@brossingo I have encountered this. (mainly when using incorrect firmware). You should also include the stacktrace, so we can see where in umqtt it is occuring. T

@vflorio94 this error can happen frequently, it happens when the url is available, but the board doesn't accept connections. Or when the board is starting, it might take a few seconds to be able to connect to it. You don't have another connection to the board, right? (And I assume you have tried hard resetting, disconnecting power then trying again)

Incase anyone else has this problem I managed to solve it. The problem was with my code. boot.py was set to launch main.py but there was a problem with main.py causing the connection to time out. The solution (which I found by accident) was to ctrl+c in the terminal window to kill main.py. It connected fine after that!

@jmarcelino Thank you for all your help. We had provided Verizon the ICCID and IMEI 10 days ago at the time of provisioning request, but for some reason the IMEI was mixed up....and lost in translation. It was rectified over a troubleshooting ticket with Verizon.

@letsgo If you have a home router & access point, the easiest is to have both LoPys connected to that. For that, follow the instructions at https://docs.pycom.io/chapter/tutorials/all/wlan.html, section: Connecting to a router. if you want to connect them directly, one of them has to run as access point (AP), the other as station (STA). Since the devices run as AP by default, you just have to reconfigure one of them the way, told above.

USB issues SOLVED The problem was the baud rate being used by Putty. The default baud rate in Putty is 9600 but the rate that should be used is 115200. This is mentioned in the documentation section for using Linux . After I changed the baud rate to 115200 did that Serial USB was working.

Hey @livius, that did the trick, again! Thx a lot, that makes even easier the deployment process, and i´ve also learned pretty nice stuff in the meanwhile. By the way, i first tried to make it work by cloning the project 'master' branch, but that code wasn´t making the deal yet. To make things work i had to clone the 'devel' branch (that by the way it´s weird because it´s one version behind 0.9.3 than master 0.9.4). Thx a lot again man, saved my life!
