@iber LoPy currently only supports Bluetooth LE GATT protocol which in simple terms is a key/value read+write protocol (like a simple database) and ill suited for streaming serialized data like JSON. You should however be able to make your mobile app write to Bluetooth LE characteristics on the LoPy which then set the WiFi and password. The GATTS example should give you the right idea: https://docs.pycom.io/pycom_esp32/library/network.Bluetooth.html#network.characteristic.events

@Eric24 For what it's worth, I repeated the test with a 10nF capacitor and a test code, which switches the output value high/low. To my surprise, the figure looks as if the capacitor is charged with a constant current. The calculation gave a current of ~47 µA, which matches the 1.53V seen across the 33k resistor. @antonms At the C level you can do I2S input using the (very new and largely untested) ESP-IDF drivers but I think a Python layer is very far away considering the amount of data, speed and DMA access required.

Hi @Eric24, I might be incorrect on this but I believe that when you wake from deep sleep, the device should start up with the radios turned off. Regardless, you should be able to configure the radios to remain off at power on by tweaking and building the firmware yourself. I'll make this suggestion to have an option to disable radios baked into our official Firmware itself.

@Eric24 we will update the data sheets with more detailed info about operating ranges soon, but in the meantime, from 2.7 to 3.6 V is the recommended range. Same during deep sleep.

@robert-hh Thanks for that specific detail. It is especially interesting to have a mode for both. I was not aware of that to be possible. Currently I got my LoPy connected (to my other wlan). It was a failure to get an IP address in the first wlan. I may have some issues with that wlan. Now I have setup a dns name in my lan and can reach the gateway by it's name. The next step is to get it registering with TTN :-)

@Vercellotti The pyb module exists for PyBoard in the micropython.org family of ports, not for the Pycom family of boards. Since the Pycom software is derived from these, it is mentioned still at some places in the docs. The module machine is to be used instead.
