@Scott-Basgaard Well at the time I'm pretty sure you could download what was called the "pybytes" firmware and modify it accordingly (with the patch above). But this particular problem was sorted out in a later version of the built-in pybytes library, at least for me. FWIW, back then you had to set the dns server with socket.dnsserver() before you did from network import LTE.

@aen I had a different experience. This worked for me: >>> import sqnsupgrade >>> sqnsupgrade.info() <<< Welcome to the SQN3330 firmware updater [1.2.6] >>> >>> FiPy with firmware version 1.20.0.rc13 Your modem is in application mode. Here is the current version: UE5.0.0.0d LR5.1.1.0-46470 Then on the terminal: >>> sqnsupgrade.run('/dev/ttyACM0', 'NB1-41019.dup') <<< Welcome to the SQN3330 firmware updater [1.2.5] >>> Firmware file is too big to load via FFF method. Using ON_THE_FLY Attempting AT wakeup... Session opened: version 1, max transfer 8192 bytes Sending 5835531 bytes: [########################################] 100% Waiting for modem to finish the update... <<<=== DO NOT DISCONNECT POWER ===>>> Resetting............................. Your modem has been successfully updated. Here is the current firmware version: UE6.0.0.0 LR6.0.0.0-41019 When I tried your method (to upgrade) the result was an error: Upgrade failed with result failure[diffUpgrade,239] Patch didn't apply! So I figured I'd just upload the final image rather than a diff as the factory shipped firmware appeared to be some unknown number (46470) The documentation on all this is convoluted when its probably quite simple. Hello all, Finally I manage to make it works. The problem wasn't in the software, but hardware. I don't use a expansion board, I use a ttl converter like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/5V-3-3V-FTDI-FT232RL-USB-to-TTL-Serial-Converter-Adapter-Module-Arduino-Mini-Hot/182736917146 With this converter 3.3V is not enough to power on stably the board, so, I used it in 5V mode, but it seem that 5v for serial communication is ok for the python REPL, but have problem when flashing the modem or use the LTE modem. Finally, I changed my design by using another 5v power source, and use the ttl converter un 3v3 mode with common ground. And then it just works fine ;) Thank you for you support

@mgranberry Do you have any idea what the NB-IoT coverage in the US is like at the moment? Also, what LTE modem firmware version were you running that code snippet with? Thx

I saw your updated NB-IoT section in the documentation and would like to clarify one thing. Does below mean that an NB-IoT connection between GPy and my AMRI LTE 100 is not possible as of this moment? Current NB-IoT limitations At the moment the NB-IoT firmware supplied by Sequans only support Ericsson base stations configured for In-Band mode. Standalone and guard-band modes will be supported in a later release. Support for Huawei base stations is also limited and only lab testing with Huawei eNodeB is recommended at the moment. Full support for Huawei is planned for early Q2 2018.

@georgeeisin Sure. You may use any antenna, which matches both the chosen frequency and the impedance of 50 Ohm.

Hi @marcobenini , thank you for your thorough explanation. It will help me to clarify the protocols I can use.
